Frequently Asked Questions

Most frequent questions and answers

All available kayak rental times are based on the best suitable times to kayak from the Cherry Grove Boat Ramp.

Yes and no, we take inexperienced and first time kayakers on our tours all the time and they do great and have a great experience. However, our tours are led by an experienced guide that is prepared to handle any situation. We highly recommend that if you are inexperienced, consider going on one of our guided tours. On our tours we can ensure your safety and give you a positive kayaking experience. Anyone that rents a kayak assumes all possible risks associated with kayaking.

KAYAK RENTAL = PADDLE AT YOUR OWN RISK

Our Salt Marsh Scenic Adventure Tour and our Private Island Adventure Tour both meet and launch from the same location at the Cherry Grove Public Boat Landing. The Boat landing is at the end of 53rdAve N. in the Cherry Grove area of North Myrtle Beach. You will find us and our kayaks & paddle boards ready to go upon arrival at the kayak launch point of the boat landing. Turn Left at the end of 53rdAve N. and look for a Gazebo with picnic tables and our kayaks.

Along with each kayak we include a paddle, life jacket, and whistle.

Please note that SC law requires each person to have a life jacket and whistle on the kayak at all times when on the water. Any child 13 years old or younger is required to wear their life jacket at all times when on the water.

Expect to smile, laugh, and have fun all while enjoying the outdoors. On each of our tours you will see different bird species to include the Great Egret and Herons some of our local larger bird species. You will also encounter fish jumping through the water and if we are lucky enough we will see some bottle nose dolphins swimming through the Hogs Inlet.

We recommend that you bring sunscreen, water, snacks, and a great fun attitude ready for an awesome adventure with Trailblaze Adventure. In case you need to step out of your kayak at some point, we recommend water shoes or sandals (not flip flops). A hat is useful for some people as well. We’ll provide the flotation vests, but if you have one that you are comfortable with, bring it as well. And don’t forget your camera as there will be plenty of great photo opportunities.

The easiest way to book your tour is right here, online. We’ve partnered with Peek Pro to provide a safe and secure online booking system for our all of our tours and rentals. Just click the button below to book your tour today. You may also call us at 843-491-3192 or stop by our shop which is located at 3700 S. Ocean Blvd., North Myrtle Beach, SC 29582 to book your tour as well. We always happy to answer any questions or concerns you may have.

No experience is required. We enjoy and take pride in teaching first-timers.

No, it is good if you are in a moderate physical condition. Our tours are on flat water and go at a slow pace. Our tour guides also always carry a tow rope that can be used to assist someone if needed.

Any age as long as they are 30 lbs or more and in a two person kayak with an adult. Our smallest life jacket is made to fit a 30 lb child. Our shortest tour for children is on the water for about 1 ½ hours. This time goes quickly and most children are great, some even fall asleep with the motion of the kayak.

Any age, especially if they are in a two person kayak with a strong kayak partner, the double kayaks are perfect for this scenario.

We recommend that a kayaker should be 13 years or older to go in their own kayak.

We do kayak in wind and rain. If you however do not feel comfortable in the conditions of the day you may reschedule your tour to suit your own comfort level.

Fun in the Sun. Great Tours. Beautiful South Carolina.
